Austrian Pine (Pinus nigra) tree seedlings. This splendid dark green ornamental has long, sweeping needles. It grows rapidly, eventually reaching heights of around 90'. The bark is dark gray, thick, rough, and furrowed. Most commonly used as an ornamental, also used in shelterbelts and as a windscreen. Tolerates city smoke, dust, and dry soil well. Likes full sun. Hardy for Zones 4-7. Nursery grown: Pennsylvania license No. 319.
