The Ohio Buckeye (Aesculus glabra) matures to 30-70', with upright flowers at ends of twigs and an irregular, rounded crown; sometimes shrubby when planted along stream beds. Thrives in rich moist soils of valleys and mountain slopes, but will also do well in dryer soils. The bark is gray and scaly. The yellow-green foliage turns orange or yellow in the autumn, making it a great ornamental for your yard. Enjoy the nuts or leave them for your woodland friends. Hardy for Zones 2-7. Nursery grown: Pennsylvania license No. 319.
