Glimmer Shop~~~Chinese Chestnut Seedlings Chinese Chestnut (Castanea mollissima) tree seedlings. Grows to 20-25' with an equal spread. Dense, lustrous foliage makes this a great shade tree. Turns yellow to bronze in the fall. Not only do these fast-growing trees form a dense round-headed ornamental, but they bear large sweet edible nuts in a few years. Although they are self-pollinating, it is best to plant at least 2 or 3 for best nut production. Enjoy the nuts or leave them for your woodland friends. Grows best in deep, sandy loam and prefers full sun. For timber use, space 12' apart for fastest, straightest growth. Plant a grove!! Hardy for Zones 4-8. Nursery grown: Pennsylvania license No. 319.
