Glimmer Shop~~~Colorado Blue Spruce Seedlings
Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens glauca) tree seedlings. Stiff, silver-blue needles are about 1" long. The bark is gray to red-brown, developing deep furrows with age. They grow in ordinary soil, and require average moisture. These ornamental specimens will grow up to be a highly effective wind screen when planted in a row (space 6' apart). They break the force of wind by absorbing it rather than by rerouting it up over the barrier the way solid walls and fences can, and grow to heights of 100'. Full sun to part shade. Hardy for Zones 2-7. Nursery grown: Pennsylvania license No. 319.
