Glimmer Shop~~~American Sycamore Seedlings

American Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis L.) tree seedlings. Grows from 60-100'. One of the largest of the eastern hardwoods, with an enlarged base, massive, straight trunk, and large, spreading often crooked branches forming a broad open crown. Also known as an American Planetree, it has broad light-green leaves with wavy edges that turn brown in autumn. The bark is smooth, whitish and mottled; peeling off in large thick flakes, exposing patches of brown, green, and gray. It provides wonderful shade for your yard, and the bark provides contrast and color. This is a great wetland tree, and would also look lovely next to your water garden, lining a brook, or on swampy land. For timber use, space 12' apart for fastest, straightest growth. Plant a grove!! Full sun to part shade. Hardy for Zones 3-9. Nursery grown: Pennsylvania license No. 319.
