Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans) seedling. This vine is the perfect plant for attracting the hummingbirds that pollinate them. It's red-orange, 2-3", trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom in mid July, have evolved along with the long, slender bill of the hummingbird. It's a stunning beauty. A trellis and wire support will help secure it as it climbs, or grow it over a free standing wall or rock pile. Prefers full sun, and moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Hardy for Zones 4-5. Nursery grown: Pennsylvania license No. 319.
